How To's
AEM
Gauge-Type Wideband UEGO Controller

One of the most important things you can know about your car is where
you stand with your air/fuel ratio. The AEM wideband UEGO sensor controller
accurately monitors Air/Fuel ratios (AFR) during the tuning process to
prevent a lean fuel mixture, which could lead to engine damage.
Tools Needed:
Wrench
Drill
Zip Ties
O2 Bung (included)
Gauge Pod - 2-1/16"
Skills needed:
Welding
Wiring (powering the gauge)

Find
a location for the sensor behind your exhaust manifold or header to drill
a hole. Make sure you have plenty of gap not to touch anything else or
possibly hit the ground. Drill a hole big enough for only the none threaded
piece to fit. The 02 bung will be welded in this spot. After you have
a hole big enough, but not too big then start welding this bung in the
location. Find a location to mount the connection piece that will have
enough room for the sensor and the wiring.

Next is mounting the gauge inside where you want it. I mounted mine under
my radio with an Autometer cup style gauge pod. After mounting it you
will need to run the connection piece that will connect to the sensor
through the firewall. Connect the wires to power your gauge.
Now all what is left is to connect the gauge to the sensor. The wire that
was run through the firewall is quite long and should be zip tied so that
it will not interfere with anything else and not to touch any part of
the exhaust because it will burn it.
Now with the AEM Gauge-Type Wideband UEGO Controller
I know where I stand at any time all what I have to do is look at the
gauge. I have the opportunity of using this gauge to tune my air/fuel
ratio to be correct throughout all of the rpm range.
In the past I have used the narrowband Air/Fuel Ratio gauges and there
is just about no use for those. The light jumped back and forth with no
way to simply read what it is putting out. With the AEM Wideband it is
completely simple to read and much more accurate.
