Like you said they are not meant for full time use, but for quick bursts. The ones that work are quite large and heavy because of the large electric
motors needed to spin the impeller at the right speed. Even an engine as small as ours requires a huge amount of air to sustain it even at idle which
makes large electric motors a requirement.
This can make for a large drain on your battery which will then put a load on the altenator, which bogs the engine down.
However it is not all doom and gloom. It would be similiar to using a nitrous set up. Horsepower on demand with little work to remove it if need be.
The key is getting a good quality unit and figuring out what power source you want to use, an extra battery for example. Also there is added fuel
considerations with the increase in air quantity.
I have not known of anyone who has run one, but now I am curious to see if I can find someone who has.
I do not want to see any naysayers on this post. We are about possibilities. Think of solutions or something outside of the box.
I will see what I can find.

Its not even worth it, my uncle put one on his neon at the race track and went from 14.7 to 15.1....money down the drain. It was once said if want
find out if it works then take the motor outta a leaf blower and try cuz its practically the same thing.

The leafblower idea has been one I have been tossing around for awhile now.
Which electric supercharger did he use by the way? A cheap eBay one or the one that looks like it has three starter motors attached to it? The eBay
ones do not move enough air and become a restriction.

theres a guy on youtube that did it.........lol funniest thing ive ever seen and besides a leaf blow doesnt have more force then what your engine is
asking for so it be pointless to do unless u get one of those roll around blowers u could put it in your trunk..........hahaha j/k

I was thinking gas powered leafblower. They push a lot of cfm. I do not know exact numbers but I will find them. A neon motor at 7k only requires
250cfm as I recall. If you could get anything above that you could boost throttle response at the very least.

yeah but there so bulky where would u put it i mean if you could get it to run off strait gas or find a way to mix oil into it so you could elminate
its gas tank. then it could be place on the firewall directly behind the engine there might be enough room with a little creative rearranging

Remove the battery and place it there was my thought. They do not take up too much room. You might be able to use the windshield washer fluid bottle
for a fuel tank and keep it running fuel. Or run it on alcohol by messing with its carb.

I have learned tons about airflow. Turbine engines are just a turbocharger that gets rid of the piston engine and produces its own heat. My neon
experience actually have me an edge in school.

That last part sounds like a CSI Miami spoof. Not any leaf blower,Ryobi.
I have not dropped this idea yet.

Didn't read the whole thread but NO. An electric supercharger is complete crap. I wouldn't buy one for my dad's car. Hell I wouldn't put one on
anything at all!!! It doesn't make sense. If you do the math the amount of electricity you would need to generate to even power a decent supercharger
is insane and you might as well just run a regular supercharger instead.

Read the whole post and it was exactly what I though. The answer is still, NO. It's not worth it. The one on mimousa.com looked useful but it still
looks like a turbocharger with an electric motor attached. As said before, the amount of power it takes to make one of these worth it would put you
with a GIGANTIC starter type motor attached to a turbo or centrifugal turbocharger and it would draw so much current you would have to run several
alternators. Not my kind of idea of fast. I think it's much more simple to just slap a turbocharger tune the engine etc. etc.

Chris and I talked outside of the post and he actually admitted the idea of an electric supercharger might be worth the time.
We got into a discussion of battery designs that would help bring the ampreage we would need without weighing a ton.

Haha, well I didn't say I would buy one. I still think that to get a good amount of boost for it to actually be worth it it'll take a couple of lipo
batteries and a few alternators.

ok so is the forceflow charger worth it to you?................
For me personally i think it is since i dont want to spend the money on putting a turbocharger/supercharger on my car. Also think about how much you
have to spend on engine mgnt. systems and stand alone fuel systems.........for a daily driver i think forceflow would be the way to go!
